Seat Belts Save Lives

The simple act of wearing a seat belt is the most effective way to prevent death or serious injury in a crash. Yet historically, Wyoming has one of the lowest seat belt compliance rates in the country.

By working together to increase awareness and use, we can protect our neighbors, friends, and family from injury and death on our roadways.

Let’s buckle up for life, Wyoming.

Help Keep Kids Safe

Every day, more than 500 children are killed in a traffic crash. We can change that.

Seat belts and child passenger safety seats save thousands of lives each year and increasing their use would save thousands more. According to SafeKids, the best way to keep children safe in a vehicle is to buckle them up and to use the right car seat in the right way. In fact, correctly used child safety seats can reduce the risk of death by as much as 71 percent — yet more than half of car seats are not used or installed correctly.

Make sure your child’s car seat is actually protecting them and get more child passenger safety tips for ages 0–19 by visiting Safe Kids Wyoming in Laramie County, Campbell County, Fremont County, Park County and Sheridan County.
